UPDATE: Regina had a busy 2007 Season! I showed her at a schooling dressage show in June where we did training level tests and she won each time with scores of 62.5 to 68.3!!!! On Mackinac Island we won our Showmanship and Equitation Class!!! We even entered a jumping class - for never jumping before she NEVER refused a jump!!! We didn't place BUT we certainly felt like winners!!! In October Regina went to Grand Rapids for a month to be on the Freestyle Drill Team with 7 other Friesians including Jacoba. All the Friesians were preparing for a demonstration to be held at the Friesian World Show the end of October in Ohio. Regina and her rider Morgan and the rest of the group where AWESOME at the show... Regina and Morgan even entered several classes and never received less then 3rd place!!! In 2008 Regina and I will be entering "A" rated Dressage shows. She is successfully performing 1st level movements!! Regina is open for the 2008 season to continue her dressage showing, we'll keep you posted!!

Regina is our Rapunzel!!! Her mane measures 41 inches long - competing with her 1/2 brother the Approved Stallion Anton 343!! She has a luxurious beautiful mane, tail and fetlocks!!! Regina is by the famous Preferent Approved Stallion, Oege, who is no longer living, and had more Approved sons than any living Friesian Stallion. Also known as being the "hair" man, Oege passes on beautiful heads, Long hair, and a strong willingness to work.

Regina is 10th generation from mother stam line 38!!  Four Dutch Approved Stallions came from this line:  Djurre 284, Doede `178, Ludse 305 and Tsjertk 328!!

Reginas' ancestorial mother line includes a number of impressive mares.  Wietsche could pride herself on having the best breeding group!! Of her seven daughters, two were designated model and five star!!  Wijkje cvontinued along these lines being awarded with the best breeding group awards in 1974, 1975 and 1977.  Her daughters followed suit!!  When Wijkje died in 1992 she left behind 2 approved stallions, three model daughters and six star daughters.

Several of Wijkje's offspring took championships as show horses in 1982, 1983 and 1984.  Several of her grandaughters reached Z-2 dressage level. Regina will continue her ancestrial legacy, proving herself in the arena and as an award producing mother.

When we acquired Regina in May of 2006 she was competing at Training Level, schooling First Level. At her first "L" judged schooling show she scored in the mid-to-upper 60's, acquiring 1st place both times. Regina was imported to the U.s. from the Netherlands in 2002. She has had several beautiful offspring already and is already turning heads on Mackinac Island with her loving disposition. An impressive light mover, she shows perfect forward movement with normal knee action and a good use of her hindquarters. Regina will be showing in rated dressage shows for 2007 under the guidance of Sue Thome. Keep checking back for updated photos of our dressage "diva" and her accomplishments.
