Sally aka "Dutchess" is our Sofisicated Lady.... A Grand Champion for France before coming to Michigan , she repeated her success at the Hasting Keuring, where she became Grand Champion and Reserve Champion. Dutchess has received a first premium, Ster status eight years running, a rarity in the Friesian world. Her pedigree is SOLID Ster and better!
Hearke + Pref., Sallys sire made an outstanding contribution to the Friesian breed and is sometimes said to be the greatest stallion to live during our lifetime. He was the most famous Mark son. Sallys 1/2 brothers include the following approved stallions: Atse, Warn, Ouke, Ids, Dirk, Gerlof, Tys, Reitse +pref., and Rients plus 13 nephews who are approved Stallions!!! No wonder Sally is nicknamed "Dutchess" - looking at her, SHE EXUDES a presence of royalty... that can not be denied.
Sallys' offspring have ALL proven themselves whether it be in the dressage arena, as a broodmare, or as pleasure driving/ riding companion...During the summer months you can see Sally on Mackinac Island proudly driving our antique carriage or meadowbrook, riding through town and enjoying the 70 miles of trails thru-out the island. She definitely commands attention!
